Is it for you?
No experience needed. Just a big heart.
Lots of great carers start with no care experience at all. If you have looked after family, worked in a shop, café or hotel, or you are simply a good listener, you already have the most important skills. We teach you the rest.
- You are 18 or over
- You hold a valid UK driving licence
- You are kind, patient and reliable, with a good sense of humour
- You are happy to complete an enhanced DBS check
- You have the right to work in the UK
What it takes
Kindness counts for more than qualifications
01
A big heart
A genuine wish to help. You’ll work closely with people who rely on you, so empathy comes first.
02
Patience
Some things take a little longer. A calm, unhurried approach makes all the difference to someone receiving care.
03
Reliability
The people we support count on us. Turning up on time and doing what you said gives them security and peace of mind.

Questions
Questions people ask us
Do I need care experience?
No. Experience is welcome but not essential. Before you start you get full, nurse-led training and shadow shifts with experienced carers, so you go out feeling confident.
Do I need a driving licence?
Yes. Our rounds cover homes across Furness and the South Lakes, so you need a valid UK driving licence. You can use a company car or claim a mileage allowance for your own, and travel time between visits is paid.
What hours can I work?
Part-time shifts run 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 10pm, and full-time hours are 7am to 11pm, on a set pattern with alternate weekends off. Every contract is permanent with guaranteed hours.
How much will I earn?
Our roles pay £13 to £17 an hour. The starting rate is £13, client uplifts are available on top, and overtime starts at £17 an hour. Travel time between visits is paid at National Minimum Wage.
What checks will I need?
An enhanced DBS check, proof of your right to work in the UK, references and a full employment history. We guide you through each one, and you can start as soon as they are complete.
